Internet Explorer – Client Update to avoid “Hanging Browser” |

Please check your browser's patch level if using some versions of Internet Explorer IE 6.0.28. This is the 6.0 version “after Service Pack 1”.
The following problems may occur:
The browser seems to hang – typically when opening pages
As consequence images are not displayed, the whole page or parts of the page (images) are not displayed
The browser is blocked for all requests to the server the hanging page was loaded from – but still is open to any other server
The problem typically shows up when working without browser cache.
Reason behind is a bug in Internet Explorer that came with Service Pack 1.The Microsoft documentation is:
In the meantime a patch Q818506 is available at Mircrosoft: please upgrade your Internet Explorer installation accordigly:
The problem does not reoccur after having installed the patch. Former solutions offered by Microsoft – proposing a registry update – are outdated.
